What is Firewood Supply?
We supply seasoned hardwood firewood across Staffordshire — predominantly ash, oak, beech, sycamore and birch sourced from our own tree operations and local forestry. All firewood is seasoned to under 20% moisture content (Ready to Burn standard) before sale.
Available in loose loads (1m³ tipped) or net bags (typically 25kg). Delivery free within 10 miles of Stafford; further afield by arrangement.
We also operate a charity firewood programme: free firewood for vulnerable elderly residents (OAPs) on referral from local charities. Your tree job helps heat someone's home.
Who It's For
- Wood-burning stove and open-fire households
- Off-grid properties relying on wood heat
- Pubs and venues with log burners
- Charities working with vulnerable residents (free supply)
When It's Needed
- Annual stock-up before winter
- Top-up mid-season
- First fill of new wood store
- Charity referral for vulnerable resident
What Happens If You Leave It
Wet firewood is the single biggest cause of stove problems — chimney tar, glass blackening, low heat output, smoke. The Government's 'Ready to Burn' rules now require under 20% moisture for sale; cheap green wood you've been buying is probably illegal as well as bad for your stove.
Forecourt 'kiln-dried' bags marked up 5× the bulk price are convenient but eye-watering for regular users.

Firewood Supply: The Full Detail
Species, Heat Output & Burn Time
Oak: highest heat output, longest burn, premium price. Beech: very high heat, even burn. Ash: high heat, easy lighting, the only species traditionally burnable when fresh. Sycamore: moderate heat, easy splitting. Birch: high flame and bright burn but burns fast.
Most loads are mixed hardwood by default, which provides a good balance of heat and burn time.
Charity Firewood Programme
Our charity programme supplies free firewood to vulnerable elderly residents in Staffordshire who heat their homes with wood. Referrals come through Age UK, parish wardens and local charities working with OAPs in need.
Customers don't pay extra for this — it's funded from our tree operations. If you'd like to refer someone, get in touch.
Every job is covered by £5m Public Liability Insurance and carried out under method statements and risk assessments tailored to your site.
